Our Families Deserve Better Healthcare
Healthcare is not a luxury — it is a necessity. In West Virginia, too many families are forced to drive hours for basic medical care, while rural hospitals close their doors and emergency rooms turn into primary care facilities by default. This is not acceptable, and it will not continue under my watch.
My vision is to expand access to quality, affordable healthcare for every West Virginian. That means protecting Medicaid expansion, which has given hundreds of thousands of our neighbors health coverage they did not have before. It means incentivizing doctors and nurses to practice in underserved communities through loan forgiveness programs and targeted investment.
Tackling the Opioid Crisis Head-On
West Virginia has been devastated by the opioid epidemic more than almost any other state in the nation. We have buried too many of our sons and daughters, brothers and sisters. This crisis demands a response that matches its scale — one rooted in treatment, recovery, and prevention rather than punishment alone.
I will fight to expand access to addiction treatment services in every county, fund recovery community organizations that are doing lifesaving work, and hold pharmaceutical companies accountable for the damage they have done. We will not let our communities continue to suffer while corporations profit.
Mental Health Is Health
The stigma around mental health has kept too many West Virginians from seeking the help they need. My administration will treat mental health with the same urgency as physical health — expanding counseling resources in schools, increasing funding for community mental health centers, and ensuring that insurance covers mental healthcare at parity with other medical services.
